KCOM Writing Competition – The Magic Phonebox - No Limits Hub | Hull UK City of Culture 2017

KCOM is urging young writers to pen a magical story in its Young Writers Competition.

Each week young writers will have the chance to write the next exciting twist or turn in the story by adding a new paragraph.

Hull children’s author and illustrator Calvin Innes will provide the first paragraph on Monday 5 June. Each week KCOM will pick the best paragraph to continue the story with each winner receiving a Kindle Fire HD and Audible book vouchers.

When the story is complete it will be transformed into an animation – bringing the story to life.

Competition details:

· Each continuing paragraph only needs to be a couple of sentences long, so tell students to try to cram as much detail, fun and adventure into each one as they can.

· Teachers send your students’ mini-chapters to KCOM, or send directly to KCOM by filling in the form at

· Attach the students’ name, age, school and a contact phone number.

· The competition will run from Monday 5 June, to Monday 24 July, with seven weekly winners being chosen on the Monday of each week.
